Are you an anti-racist practitioner?
The anti-racism journey is not linear, and a large part of this includes being racially literate.
Racial literacy is the skills, knowledge, and social awareness needed to talk mindfully about race and racism. This naturally includes terms such as race, racism, prejudice, ally, upstander, and so on.

Through a range of interactive discussions and practical activities, we will explore language, and wellbeing strategies to enhance cultural sensitivity and belonging.
By booking training and consultancy services with Harvey Heals, you'll develop the skills, knowledge, and vocabulary to deepen your understanding of race and the impact of racism.

Knowing what to say, understanding the impact of your words, and grasping the complexities of race and racism can be confusing. This course will help rectify this.
But most importantly, being an anti-racist practitioner requires consistent action, not just words.
Why should you consider this work?

Here's what the research says:

-
"More than two in five Black, brown and minority ethnic workers in the United Kingdom say they have faced racism on the job" according to the Trades Union Congress
-
“An overwhelming 94% of teachers agreed that microaggression and anti-racism training should form part of mandatory teacher training.” - Racial microaggressions in schools: teachers’ perspectives and what it means for students, 2023
-
“Fewer than 1% of English Literature students studied a book by a writer of colour at GCSE, even though 34% of school students in England are from Black, Asian or minority ethnic backgrounds.” Research commissioned by Penguin paints, 2021
The world we live in is constantly evolving, and there are a significant number of phrases, and social nuances, that often arise linked to race and racism.
