
Take the first step with Youth Mental Health First Aid Aware foundation training.
In this half day course, you'll learn about the prevalence of mental health in children and young people, and gain a solid grounding to make a positive difference in their lives.

Training is open to anyone aged 16+ (including school students) with an interest in supporting youth mental health.

By the end of the course you'll learn:

Some of the common mental health issues affecting young people, including depression, anxiety, eating disorders and psychosis

Skills to work more effectively with young people living with mental health issues

Ways to support young people with a mental health issue and relate to their experiences​

Structure of the training:​

This is a three hour course delivered either face-to-face or via online video conferencing

Learning takes place through a mix of presentations, group discussions and workshop activities
-
MHFA England limit numbers to 25 people per course so that the instructor can keep people safe and supported while they learn​​

Everyone who completes the course receives:

A certificate of attendance to say you are a Youth MHFAider®A YouthMHFAider® manual to refer to whenever you need it

A workbook including some helpful tools to support your own mental health.

​If you work in education and have access to the Department for Education (DfE) Senior Mental Health Lead Training grant you may be able to use part of the grant to fund further activities to support your development, including this accredited course.​
